Steeped in history this is a fantastic part of France to explore. The medieval town of Sarlat, La Roque Gageac and Beynac are all within easy reach and are a chance to see the Dordogne region at its very best. La Roque Gageac is one of France's most beautiful villages. In a stunning position on the north bank of the Dordogne River, and backed by a steep hill / cliffs, with little to suggest that much has changed there in the last 300 years, La Roque-Gageac is truly the perfect picture postcard village. Sarlat is a picturesque tangle of honey-coloured buildings, alleyways and secret squares, boasting some of the region’s best-preserved medieval architecture, it’s a popular base for exploring the Vézère Valley, and a favourite location for film directors. If you are after an active holiday then there is golf, horse riding and mountain biking available within 1km of the property. Walks and wine routes are close by providing plenty to see and do.
In a fantastic location, this really is a lovely gite for exploring all that the Dordogne has to offer.
