This wonderful house formed part of the historical estate once owned by King Henry II of England. First built in the 12th century, it retains some of its original features, seamlessly blending both old and new and renovated to an extremely high standard.
Standing in the shadow of Chateau de Benauge and over-looking rolling hills full of vineyards, Meinguin de Benauge offers a unique getaway in the heart of the Bordeaux region of France. This home from home is set within three hectares of garden, vineyard and ancient oak forest. The house sits within picturesque surroundings and unforgettable views.
The house hosts six en-suite bedrooms and a mezzanine bedroom all of which are beautifully decorated in a modern style, thoughtfully blending with the character of the property. Each room provides a wonderful retreat after an adventurous day exploring the markets, chateaux and wine tasting tours. The house has everything you could wish for. A well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and living areas with modern bathrooms.
Outside, the south to south west facing pool area looks out over the valley with views you will never get bored of. The swimming pool is open during the summer months and offers a great place to cool off, sunbathe or just relax and enjoy a well earned rest after a busy day exploring the local sights. The large lawned area offers an ideal place for playing family games and a welcome shaded dining area nearby to retreat from the midday sun. To escape from it all, why not take an evening stroll through the surrounding vineyards. There is seating for 14 guests, providing a fantastic location to soak up the view and spectacular sunsets.
